AURANGABAD: The Aurangabad Central Excise and Service Tax Commissionerate conducted an interactive session on Service Tax Voluntary Compliance Encouragement Scheme (VCES), 2013, here on Thursday.
"The Government of India, Central Board of Excise & Customs, New Delhi, has introduced VCES-13 in respect of non-filers, stop filers of service tax returns, non-registrants and those who have not truly declared tax liability for the period October 2007 to December 2012. To create awareness about the scheme amongst the service providers and the assessees,
sensitisation programme was organised at Einstein Hall, Institute of Management, Mahatma Gandhi Mission Campus," said additional commissioner, Aurangabad, Dinesh Pangarkar.
The chief commissioner, Central Excise, Customs and Service Tax, Nagpur Zone, Jagjit Pavadia inaugurated the programme and released a booklet published by the Aurangabad commissionerate. She appealed to the participants to come forward and avail the benefit of the scheme and make it successful.
Kumar Santosh, commissioner, Central Excise, Customs and Service Tax, Aurangabad, apprised all the assessees of Marathwada region and appealed to the traders to avail the opportunity. "More than 150 members of the trade, industries and service providers attended the sensitisation programme on VCES," said Santosh.
A power point presentation on VCES -2013 was made by Pangarkar. He explained the details of the scheme to members of the Chamber of Marathwada Industries and Agriculture, Institute of Chartered Accountants in India, Confederation of Real Estate Developers Association of India, Marathwada Association of Small Scale Industries and Agriculture, major service providers and assessees of Aurangabad, Ahmednagar and Jalna.
